To be honest, I am someone who's dare going out without wearing any makeup nor face powder. You might said, "Wow, you must be proud of your skin right?". Unfortunately, it is not that I have super duper clear, healthy and beautiful skin. I honestly have a major crisis with 'makeup' and laziness is my absolute enemy. I am too lazy to clean out the mess I made on my face. Grin. Wait... Just recently, I bought this new baby, Maybelline Clear Smooth Two Way Cake with me. Since the 50% discount on Maybelline product at online store was very seductive, I end up buying this baby. So here we goes, my review about Maybelline cake powder. Nicely pack. The Finishing ◼ Shine control - Yes. It really does the job like it said. My skin don't get oily during the day when applying this cake powder. I have normal skin type. ◼ Instant fairness - Yes. It work instantly. Rather that dry application, I love wet application more. It is like a better coverage with wet application for me. ◼ Visibly smooth complexion - Yes. And it is kinda lightweight too. Love that. ◼ Cover dark spots - Not really. When there is too much melanin production, dark spot may appear in your specific area of the skin. My prediction, it may works for minor dark spot. I have quite visible acne scar on my cheek kinda dark in color, and it still slightly visible after applying this face powder. ◼ Long lasting - Yes. Try wet application, and it is awesome. Recommended for those who have a dry skin, try this wet application. ◼ Conceal blemishes and pores - Doesn't really works for major problem. ◼ Tone perfecting - Yes. Agree on this. It blend so well with my skin tone. OVERALL It is quite okay for my skin. I love the lightweight effect and the instant fairness. It blend well and easy to wash off I just clean them using my normal foam cleanser. Tips for anyone who have quite visible acne scars like mine for example, you will need to apply concealer first, before applying this cake powder to hide the imperfections. Overall it is okay. Its an affordable price too. My rate for this cake powder, 4/5. I switched back to my all time favorite powder from Maybelline. I was surprised it’s now a two-way cake. You can use it dry or with a wet sponge. I was bothered at first because my dermatologist told me to stay away from two-way powders as it’s heavy for the skin. I want coverage so I’m still using it anyway. Apply highlighter if needed. It felt heavy the first time I used this Maybelline powder. I got used to it and it doesnt bother me anymore. I noticed that it gives more coverage than the old formula. Take note that I’m applying it dry with sponge. I just used a wet sponge in this review to test its coverage alone. You can get light to medium coverage. It’s great that they didnt change the price! I got the shade 04 Honey and it was very pigmented. It has yellow undertones to it and it did brighten my under eyes and has medium coverage. The powder is very smooth and softly milt, but it has a lot of kickback. I loved the consistency. Its very smooth and has good coverage. Totally can wear it all alone due to its medium coverage. MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE PRODUCT I love how smooth and pigmented this powder is. It has very good medium coverage for a compact powder under This shade is perfect for me and definitely gives my face some coverage. Normally I wear just this and go out. If you are using a bb cream then you can top it off with this and get a flawless finish. It contains SPF 32 PA+++ which is a great thing since you can only apply it on its own and go out without the additional use of any sunscreen. It controls the oil in your face to some extent, definitely has a lightweight formula and gives a flawless finish. These claims are totally true. It can be a bit drying during the winters. So, I suggest that you exfoliate your skin well. The coverage was pretty intact for almost 5 hours. I did not re-apply it over time. If you have an oily T zone then it will get shiny after 3 hours. I’ve been using Maybelline Products since I was in college. The first product I’ve used are their lip balm and lipstick. I saw the advertisement of Maybelline Clear Smooth All In One Cake Powder on the TV and I did not think twice to buy one of my own. Since I’ve used Maybelline products before and up till now, I know their new products will going to be great. I totally love Maybelline products. The Maybelline Clear Smooth All In One Cake Powder is so great. I am a person who follows holistic care, and from now and then I found Maybelline products rich in natural ingredients, meaning they are focused on the wellness of their customers. This product is so good on my skin, it’s not harsh and make my skin so smooth. The cake powder has SPF 25 P++ which is good in daytime and protects skin from UV rays. I also love the color and the design of the product; it is mini powder, so I can carry it anywhere I go. I can use the powder alone or a finishing touch along with my other powder. The product also conceals the blemishes on my skin and some of my pimples. It also smoothens and evens the skin for a nice touch, it is gentle on the skin and non-comedogenic meaning it doesn’t clog your pores. I have a huge pore before, but after using it for a few months, I notice that some of my pores are not enlarging more. I use this powder morning till night, it sits long and makes my skin’s natural even I’m at work the whole day.. Maybelline Clear Smooth All In One Cake Powder is also cheaper I think around PhP 120-150 when you buy it in the Philippines, and you can buy it anywhere either in Watson, drug stores, department stores, and even in supermarkets; it’s not hard to find. You can choose from Natural, Honey and Beige. I already tried Natural and Honey, and both of it does great on my skin. Maybelline never failed to satisfy me on my little fashion world. This product is so fantastic. For those people who wants to try it, young or old, I do suggest that you buy one and try it. It is great for winter or summer.
